St Aloysius Pre-University College lies in the heart of Mangaluru, in the coastal belt of Karnataka. For 140 years the College has been helping young students identify and achieve their full potential through a holistic model of education that is focused on appropriate intellectual, spiritual, moral, physical and emotional grooming.
The outcome is visible in the formation of competent, committed, creative and compassionate men and women who live for and with others, which indeed is the objective of the Jesuit Education mission.
Inspired by the selfless service of the College’s patron, St Aloysius Gonzaga, SAPUC has made outreach programmes and value education an integral part of its curriculum to help instill in young minds care and concern for the less privileged, the weak and the old.
Each academic year the College conducts a range of activities and programmes such as Retreats, Educational Tours, Musical Day, Talents Day, Pre-Unique (Inter -Collegiate fest), Model United Nations aimed at the all-round development of its students.
SAPUC is home to around 4000 students divided into 62 batches, spread over Science, Commerce and Arts streams in both I and II PUC.
The College has 142 well-qualified teaching staff, 2 physical directors, 4 lab instructors, 13 administrative staff, 3 counselors and 37 non-teaching staff. The College Principal, Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, the Finance Officer, Fr Vinod Paul SJ and the Campus Minister, Fr Sujay Daniel take care of college affairs.
The College provides excellent infrastructure and facilities which include spacious classrooms with LCD projectors, well-equipped laboratories, a language lab with internet facility, CCTV in all the classrooms, elevators, 2 full-fledged libraries and a vast playground.
The College is very supportive of students who hail from economically underprivileged families. Facilities such as mid-day meals, fee concessions, scholarships, book bank and college uniform are offered to help these families educate their children without too much strain.
